Gosnell Selected 2017 AFIS Distinguished Senior

Ms. Kristen Gosnell has been named the 2017 Distinguished Senior for EKU's Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems. She will be honored during a presentation on Friday, April 21, at the School of Business College to Careers Conference.

The student is selected based on superior academic achievement, excellent leadership, citizenship, character and services to EKU.

Gosnell, from Winchester, is graduating this May, Summa Cum Laude, with two degrees - a Bachelor of Business Administration in Managerial Accountng and Bachelor of Arts in English, Technical Writing. Her nearly perfect GPA has earned an invitation into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the highest academic honor to which EKU students may aspire.

An EKU Honors student, Gosnell has also earned a number of awards and recognitions including the Diana Hamilton Memorial Scholarship, the Excellence Scholarship, and the Madonna Marsden Writing Award.

Deeply engaged in both her local and college community, Gosnell volunteers for the Humane Society in Madison County. She is also a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha where she organized a number of literacy focused events and fundraisers.

She has taken career preparedness seriously by interning with the Kentucky Innovation Network and Jackson Hewitt.

Congratulations to Kristen Gosness on being selected as the 2017 distinguished senior representing the Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems.

At the conference, the School of Business honored distinguished seniors and distinguished alumni from each of its academic departments. Mr. Joshua Boone was selected as the AFIS departmental distinguished alum. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2016-17 academic year were recognized and honored for their outstanding achievement.
