AFIS selects George E. Ridings as 2004 distinguished alum

EKU's Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems is pleased to announce that Mr. George E. Ridings has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2004.

Mr. Ridings was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 2, 2004, at the annual College of Business and Technology College to Careers senior recognition luncheon.

The honor is reserved for special alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions through excellence, dedication, and service.

Mr. Ridings earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business from EKU in 1964. He is founder of Ridings Insurance & Financial Services, LTD, in Richmond, Kentucky, an entrepreneurial venture he began 39 years ago.  He is also a charter member of The Nautilus Group, a prestigious membership available to only the top New York Life agents.  Mr. Ridings has achieved life membership in the International Insurance Organization Million Dollar Round Table. 

Along with his many professional accomplishments, Mr. Ridings gives generously to his community by Chairing the Richmond Utilities Board and by having served as President of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, Richmond Rotary Club, and Richmond Jaycees.  He is a recipient of the Kentucky Association of Life Underwriters Medal of Honor and is a member of the EKU Hall of Distinguished Alumni.

Congratulations, Mr. Ridings, on being selected as the 2004 Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems Distinguished Alumnus.

The college also honored distinguished seniors for the year as selected by their respective departments within the College of Business and Technology. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2003-04 academic year were recognized. Students were honored for outstanding achievement and more than 40 area employers were on hand to engage in networking activities with college graduating seniors.
