AFIS selects Phillip Gregory as 2007 distinguished alum
EKU's Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems is pleased to announce that Mr. Phillip N. Gregory has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2007.
Mr. Gregory was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 6, 2007, at the annual College of Business and Technology College to Careers senior recognition luncheon.
The honor is reserved for special alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions through excellence, dedication, and service.
Mr. Gregory is Managing Partner of the Kentucky offices of PricewaterhouseCoopers accounting firm, which includes offices in Louisville and Lexington. In addition to his managing partner duties Mr. Gregory also serves as the leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Japanese practice in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, focusing on building the firm’s Japanese practice located in those states.
Mr. Gregory started his career with the PricewaterhouseCoopers Lexington office in 1978 and was admitted to the partnership in Lexington in 1988. During his career, he has served a number of public and private companies located throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana and currently focuses on serving foreign-based companies from Japan, Canada, and the United Kingdom whose subsidiaries are located in the U.S.
Mr. Gregory earned his BBA in Accounting from EKU and currently holds CPA licenses in Alabama, California, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Society of CPA's and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is chairman of the Kentucky Society of CPA Educational Foundation. He is also a member of Lake Forest Country Club, Lexington Lafayette Club, is a member of Highview Baptist Church, and was one of the original members of the EKUBusiness Advisory Council.
Congratulations, Mr. Gregory, on being selected as the 2007 Distinguished Alumnus representing the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems.
The college also honored distinguished seniors for the year as selected by their respective departments within the College of Business and Technology. Mr. Chris Linville was selected as the AFIS departmental distinguished senior. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2006-07 academic year were recognized. Students were honored for outstanding achievement and more than 40 area employers were on hand to engage in networking activities with college graduating seniors.
