Badeau selected as AFIS 2016 distinguished alum
EKU's Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems, along with the School of Business, is pleased to announce that Ms. Jaclyn T. Badeau has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2016.
Ms. Badeau was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 15, at the School of Business College to Careers Conference.
The honor is reserved for special alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions through excellence, dedication, and service.
Jaclyn has worked at Tempur Sealy International, Inc. in Lexington, KY for almost 5 years in a variety of roles; currently, she is the Director, Controller for 3 US Sales companies. Before joining Tempur Sealy, Jaclyn worked in public accounting at Dean Dorton Allen Ford, PLLC for over 6 years. She was an Audit Manager primarily focusing on colleges and universities, healthcare, not-for-profit organizations, and audit training.
Jaclyn serves as a Board of Director of the KYCPA and has previously served on both the Members in Business & Industry Committee and as Chair of the Emerging Professionals Committee. She also participated in the 2007 KYCPA Leadership Academy class. Jaclyn is a member of the AICPA and was one of a select group of 37 CPAs under age 36 to complete the AICPA’s prestigious 2013 Leadership Academy training program. She also participated on the AICPA Passing Score Panel in 2010.
Jaclyn is also active in her community; she is a Board of Director, Treasurer, Finance Committee Chair, and past Audit Committee Chair of the Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Council. Jaclyn also serves as a Finance Committee member of the Living Arts and Science Center. She was a Board of Director with this organization for 6 years where she served as Board President in 2012. Jaclyn is also a Horatio Alger Association Ambassador.
Jaclyn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Eastern Kentucky University and a Masters of Business Administration from Morehead State University. She is also a CGMA and received 2 awards of excellence from the KYCPA for receiving the highest grade on the FAR and AUD sections of the CPA exam during that exam period.
Jaclyn resides in Richmond, KY with her husband, Justin and their lab, Midnite.
Congratulations Ms. Badeau on being selected as the 2016 Distinguished Alum representing the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems.
The School of Business also honored distinguished seniors for the year as selected by their respective departments. Mr. James Speaks, an insurance and risk management major from Somerset, Ky., was selected as the AFIS departmental distinguished senior. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2015-16 academic year were recognized and honored for their outstanding achievement.
