Smith Awarded Auto-Owners Internship

Sarah Smith, a Risk Management and Insurance junior from Berea, has received a Summer 2016 internship with Auto-Owners Insurance in Lexington. Auto-Owners Insurance is a strong company that has operated for over 95 years. It not only handles claims of auto-insurance but also life, home, boat, and other types. Smith will be handling several of these claims over the course of her summer.

For the fourth consecutive year, an Eastern Kentucky University Risk Management and Insurance major is one of only 30 students nationwide selected to participate in the prestigious Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program.

EKU Class Partners with Local Agencies to Provide Free Income Tax Preparation

An Eastern Kentucky University accounting class is partnering with the Central Kentucky Economic Empowerment Project and Kentucky River Foothills Community Action Agency to offer basic income tax preparation for those making $54,000 or less.

Gamma Iota Sigma is the only international business fraternity for students of insurance, risk management and actuarial science. EKU’s own chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma attended the 44th annual International Conference held in Chicago, Ill., from October 8-10, 2015.
