EKU Students Attend Gamma Iota Sigma National Conference

Gamma Iota Sigma is the only international business fraternity for students of insurance, risk management and actuarial science. EKU’s chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma attended the 45th annual International Conference held in Columbus, Ohio, from September 29 - October 1, 2016.

EKU to Host Becker CPA Exam Workshop

The Kentucky Society of CPAs (KyCPA) and Becker Professional Education is partnering to offer the Uniform CPA Exam Workshop at three Kentucky universities this fall and winter. First up, on November 4th, is Eastern Kentucky University, followed by the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky (both scheduled for February 2017).

Bringing innovation to the classroom, School of Business faculty combined their talents giving students highly engaging learning experiences.

Joint-class teams work together on a semester-long project. Part of the process early in the semester was a class trip for all 63 students to the EKU Challenge Course for team building exercises.

On Wednesday, May 18th, Ron House, LUTCF, CSA, MA of Richmond, was awarded the Kentucky Medal of Honor by the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors-Kentucky during their annual convention and state sales summit.

Members of the EKU campus community do much more than simply contribute to the local economy.

Students, faculty and staff contributed more than 7,500 hours of volunteer service in 2015-16, with 70 individuals earning honors from The President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. They were recognized at a recent campus reception.

Gao Receives 2016 Dyer Excellence in Teaching Award

EKU's School of Business is pleased to announce the recipient of the Twelfth Annual Jack L. Dyer Excellence in Teaching Award. The recipient for 2015-16 is Dr. Siwei Gao, Assistant Professor of Risk Management and Insurance.

Nominations for the award were made by School of Business department chairs and reviewed by a three-member Selection Committee.
